WASHINGTON, DC - The U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s online performance management platform, USA Performance has been selected for the Public Sector Innovation Award in this year’s annual Government Innovation Award Ceremony. It has also been nominated for a FedScoop 50 Innovation of the Year Award. 

So far, around 40 agencies have implemented USA Performance into their performance management process, and on average, has saved 100 trees and 300 work hours per year. USA Performance’s economies of scale also allows all federal agencies, no matter the size or budget, to use the platform, a huge part of what makes USA Performance unique from other platforms. 

The platform helping to pave the way for an automated process in Federal employee performance management.

BACKGROUND

-        USA Performance launched in 2014 as an SES program, an around 8,000 potential population. Now, approximately one in three SES use it for their performance appraisals. It has since then become available to all of government, a two-million potential population and is rapidly being adopted by agencies for agency-wide use.

-        Prior to USA Performance, larger agencies were spending hundreds of thousands on 3^rd party online automated performance management platforms.

-        Paper-based performance management procedures use nine pages of paper per employee.

-         Innovation in Government Award Ceremony is to be held 11/07/19. Voting for the FedScoop 50 award goes through October 11, 2019 and will be awarded November 7, 2019.
