Health
When is the next Open Season?
November 13 through December 11, 2023
Federal regulations require an annual Open Season to be held each year from the Monday of the second full work week in November through the Monday of the second full workweek in December. You can find more information about the annual Open Season dates in the FEHB Handbook.
You must submit your Open Season enrollment change before midnight, Eastern Standard Time, on the last day of Open Season to be considered timely filed. Open Season enrollment changes take effect the first day of your first full pay period in January of the following year. You can find more information in the FEHB Handbook.

Long Term Care
Applications for coverage under the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program were suspended December 19, 2022. This was done to allow OPM and the FLTCIP carrier, John Hancock Life & Health Insurance Company, the time to assess the benefit offerings and establish sustainable premium rates that reasonably and equitably reflect the cost of the benefits provided.
When not suspended, most Federal and U.S. Postal Service employees and annuitants, active and retired members of the uniformed services, and their qualified relatives are eligible to apply for insurance coverage under the FLTCIP.
