BASED ON THE COVERED AGENCIES' SUPPORTING SALARY AND STAFFING DATA, INCREASED SUPPLEMENTS WERE APPROVED ON 04/30/2024. ALASKA, HAWAII, AND THE REST OF U.S. LOCALITY PAY AREAS WERE ADDED TO LOCATION COVERAGE AND USDA WAS ADDED TO AGENCY COVERAGE. SUBSEQUENTLY, ON 05/14/2024, THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR (DOI) REQUESTED THAT IT BE ADDED TO THE AGENCY COVERAGE. OPM APPROVED THAT DOI REQUEST ON 05/22/2024. INCORPORATING THE 1.0 PERCENT JANUARY 2026 GENERAL SCHEDULE INCREASE. THIS SPECIAL RATE TABLE INCLUDES LOCATIONS WHERE APPLICABLE GENERAL SCHEDULE LOCALITY RATES OF PAY EXCEED THE SPECIAL RATES OF PAY AT CERTAIN GRADES AND STEPS. EMPLOYEES WHO ARE COVERED BY A SPECIAL RATE SCHEDULE ARE ENTITLED TO THE APPLICABLE SPECIAL RATE WITHIN THAT SCHEDULE UNLESS THEY ARE ENTITLED TO A HIGHER RATE OF BASIC PAY UNDER OTHER AUTHORITY (E.G., A HIGHER LOCALITY RATE OR A RETAINED RATE). RATES LIMITED TO THE RATE FOR LEVEL IV OF THE EXECUTIVE SCHEDULE (5 U.S.C. 5305).
