OPM's Suitability Executive Agent Programs (SuitEA) serves as the Federal Government's suitability and fitness authority. We develop policy and guidance, adjudicate cases within OPM's retained jurisdiction, support agencies through the referral process, deliver training compliant with the National Training Standards, and provide oversight to ensure consistent and fair suitability and fitness decisions across the Federal Government. Report an Action
Effective July 30, 2026 - Agencies must notify OPM when taking or intending to take an action under their own authority based on conduct that implicates suitability factors or involves post-appointment conduct.
