OPM Delivers Major Modernization for Federal HR
WASHINGTON, DC — The US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) today announced the launch of the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions (GPPA) Navigator, a new digital tool that modernizes how federal Human Resources (HR) professionals access and apply personnel action guidance.
The GPPA Navigator transforms decades of document-based guidance into an intuitive, searchable digital experience, giving more than 40,000 federal Human Resources specialists across government faster access to the codes, authorities, and policy guidance needed to process personnel actions accurately and consistently.
The launch coincides with OPM’s comprehensive review and modernization of the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions, which streamlined content, removed outdated material, and incorporated recent policy updates to better serve today’s federal workforce.
“Government shouldn’t require people to dig through hundreds of pages to find an answer,” OPM Director Scott Kupor said. “The GPPA Navigator is exactly the kind of practical modernization we’re focused on at OPM—taking something that HR specialists use every day and making it faster, simpler, and more reliable. Better tools mean less time searching for guidance and more time serving the American people.”
The GPPA Navigator reflects OPM’s continued commitment to delivering practical, user-centered technology that improves government operations and helps agencies better serve the American people.
