Where to find your OPM retirement claim number

To protect annuitants' account security, OPM only prints claim numbers (also known as CSA or CSF numbers) on official documents.

How to find your claim number on official OPM documents

  • Welcome letter

The claim number is in the top-right area of the letter, which we send to annuitants shortly after we receive the retirement package from their former employing agency.

The claim number is on the front of the card, which is included with the welcome letter.
