OPM Hosts Tech Force Roundtable at the White House
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) convened senior administration officials, federal agency leaders, and industry executives at the White House for a US Tech Force (Tech Force) roundtable focused on strengthening the federal government’s technology workforce and accelerating innovation across agencies.
OPM Director Scott Kupor opened the discussion with an overview of the US Tech Force initiative, highlighting early progress and outlining priorities for scaling recruitment, deployment, and impact across the federal enterprise.
The roundtable featured remarks from White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios and Federal Chief Information Officer and Chief AI Officer Greg Barbaccia, who discussed the administration’s technology, innovation, and workforce priorities and the role Tech Force plays in advancing secure, modern, and mission-driven government services.

Federal agency leaders shared case studies demonstrating how Tech Force talent is already supporting critical modernization efforts. Participants included Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering Emil Michael and Chief Technology Officer of the Department of War, Treasury Chief Information Officer Sam Corcos, and Department of Health and Human Services Chief Information Officer Clark Minor. The discussion highlighted practical applications of technical talent to improve digital services, modernize legacy systems, and strengthen agency workforces.
Industry partners also provided perspectives on public-private collaboration and talent development. They discussed opportunities to help enable secure, scalable digital transformation across government and support the development of the next generation of technical leaders.
The roundtable concluded with an open discussion and Q&A, reinforcing a shared commitment across government and industry to attract top technical talent, deploy it effectively, and deliver measurable results for the American people. Tech Force is a cornerstone of the administration’s efforts to modernize government, build elite technical teams, and ensure the federal workforce is equipped to meet today’s most complex technological challenges.
