NOTES: This table is part of special rate authorization approved on 1/23/26. This table applies only for GS-0083 police officer positions that meet the coverage conditions of Special Rate Table 983C. Department of Homeland Security coverage is limited to positions within the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Department of Commerce coverage is limited to positions within the Office of Security.

Special Rate Tables L001 through L059 within this authorization cover certain law enforcement personnel meeting the definition of law enforcement officers in 5 U.S.C. 5541(3) and 5 CFR 550.103. Special Rate Tables L060 through L118 within this authorization cover certain law enforcement personnel not meeting that definition. The authorization also includes Special Rate Tables L119 through L140, which cover certain law enforcement positions that were already receiving special rates in 2025.
