2015 Virtual Human Resources Training Conference

Overview

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Chief Human Capital Officers’ (CHCO) Council are sponsoring an interactive virtual human resources (HR) training conference to develop and enhance HR skills and interagency collaboration. The theme is “REDI for the Future.” REDI, which stands for recruitment, engagement, diversity and inclusion, is an OPM strategy designed to further the People and Culture pillar of the President's Management Agenda. A wide variety of workshops at the conference will focus on these topics.

Approximately 40 sessions will be delivered in the following tracks:


  • Back-to-Basics – Learn about a variety of HR functions, policies, programs and processes
  • Hiring Process – Learn about HR hiring flexibilities and how to accelerate your hiring efforts and acquire top talent for your agency
  • Strategic Human Capital Management – Learn about key tenets of strategic human capital management as outlined in OPM’s Human Capital Framework such as succession and workforce planning
  • HR Innovations – Learn about emerging HR/HC solutions, trends, best practices and innovations that are showing great promise in enhancing organizational performance
  • Hiring Managers – Learn about the essential HR/HC practices hiring managers should know in order to better recruit, engage, retain and develop their employees in sessions geared towards new or seasoned hiring managers

How You Will Benefit

Meet virtually with colleagues from Federal Human Resources (HR) and Human Capital (HC) community to discuss Federal human resources challenges, learn from one another in an online setting, and share best practices in the strategic management of human capital. From hiring and retaining an effective workforce to assessing and rewarding performance, federal HR specialists and managers must deal with challenges that are complex, numerous and ever-changing. The conference offers a unique opportunity for HR leaders to identify critical issues and challenges, share ideas and best practices, and discuss strategies to address the problems of federal human capital management change across government and within individual departments and agencies.

Who Should Attend

Federal human resource or human capital management professionals at all levels, from entry level through management; resource managers with HR responsibilities; and, supervisors and hiring managers who want to learn more about Federal HR/HC programs, policies and practices.
