Frequently Asked Questions Insurance

For FEDVIP (Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program), Are dependents covered while they are 22 years old or cut off the day they become 22?

For dependent children, coverage ends at midnight on the eve of their 22nd birthday.  Benefits are not available on the day of their 22nd birthday. The employing/retirement office must make the incapable of self-support determination and submit to BENEFEDS within 60 days of the initial enrollment or the dependent’s 22 birthday in order for the dependent to be included on the enrollment.
