OPM Director John Berry to Address 2012 Graduating Seniors

Washington, DC - This year, OPM Director John Berry will deliver commencement addresses at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University, Southern Illinois College, California State University at Fullerton, University of Maryland at College Park, John Glenn School of Public Affairs at Ohio State University, and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.

Director Berry will begin his 2012 commencement addresses at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University, which, for the first time this year, was ranked among the top 25 Public Affairs schools in the nation. The following week, he will travel to Illinois to address the graduates at Southern Illinois College. Director Berry was inspired by the resilience of the student body and local community in responding to the spate of recent tornadoes in the area. Next, Director Berry will speak at the California State University at Fullerton. This university is recognized for its diverse and inclusive student body, a fact which Director Berry will highlight and praise. The next day, Director Berry will deliver the commencement address at his undergraduate alma mater, the University of Maryland at College Park. Director Berry always enjoys returning to the University of Maryland and will encourage students to pursue a career in public service.

In June, Director Berry will travel to Ohio to address graduates at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs at Ohio State University, and round off his commencements at his graduate alma mater, the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Both schools are among the best Public Affairs schools in the nation. At each, Director Berry will encourage graduates to pursue work in service of the Nation.
