Saint Mary’s University and Office of Personnel Management form Federal Employee Education Alliance

Federal Government Employees and their spouses and dependents will receive 10% tuition grant on university programs

Washington, DC -- Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) have signed an agreement to offer a waived application fee and 10% tuition grant for online and campus programs through the Schools of Graduate & Professional Programs to Federal Government employees and their spouses and dependents.* Eligible employees can begin to take advantage of the tuition grant starting with the upcoming fall term at Saint Mary’s.

“This alliance provides Federal Government employees with access to opportunities for professional development through Saint Mary’s high-quality educational programs,” said OPM Acting Director Beth F. Cobert. “In particular, it allows Federal employees to obtain the education they need to meet today’s workplace challenges. This effort will also help agencies across government close critical skills gaps, enabling the Federal workforce to fulfill its mission to serve the American people more efficiently and effectively every single day.”

The Saint Mary’s alliance allows for Federal Government employees and their spouses and dependents to enroll in any online or campus programs through the Schools of Graduate & Professional Programs. Students enrolling in Saint Mary’s programs may transfer credits and/or be awarded credit for prior learning if eligible under Saint Mary’s standard policies and procedures.

“We are pleased to be in agreement with OPM in this Federal educational alliance to enhance the abilities of the Federal Government’s workforce and further its talent,” said Brother William Mann, president of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. “The variety of our fully online and on-campus program options aligns with the vast and diverse population of Federal Government employees who want to advance their skills and knowledge to grow in service and leadership -- hallmarks of Saint Mary's. Our programs are designed to complement the schedules of working professionals to ensure they can succeed in their studies while balancing work and family responsibilities. We are honored to be partnering with the Federal Government and the employees who serve our country.”
