OPM launches new CFC donor pledge website

Website contains final list of participating charities

WASHINGTON, DC - The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) has launched its new donor pledge website, opening up the campaign’s ability to accept online pledges for participating charities.

Federal employees may now visit www.opm.gov/showsomelovecfc - a brand new, centralized giving portal for all potential CFC contributors across the nation - to create their own profile, research charities, and then choose how they would like to support the causes they care about most by donating money or volunteer time. The site will also give Federal employees better access to manage their pledge information, charity payments, and more.

“The CFC is a longstanding tradition and one of the largest and most successful workplace giving campaigns in the world,” said Keith Willingham, director, Office of Combined Federal Campaign for the ‎Office of Personnel Management (OPM). “We’re building on that tradition in new and exciting ways, including volunteerism, Federal retiree giving, and a coordinated, nationwide marketing effort to support philanthropy.”

Other new CFC regulations taking effect in 2017 include the following:

-        In addition to pledging money, Federal employees can now pledge volunteer service hours to participating nonprofit organizations.

-        All CFCs around the country (and for eligible participants stationed overseas) have implemented the same theme to create a unified look and feel, helping to streamline campaign efforts. The campaign also features a single honorary chairperson.

-        OPM now has authorization to solicit donations from Federal retirees during CFC’s open season. Federal retirees will soon have the ability to access the CFC website to set up one-time online donations via e-check or credit card as well as recurring donations via credit card.

This year’s nationwide theme, Show Some Love, encourages current and retired Federal employees to support the causes that mean the most to them. The CFC includes thousands of participating charities to represent the diverse interests of Federal employees everywhere.

“We want to tell every Federal employee that this is your campaign,” Willingham said. “Whether you care about veterans’ services, disaster relief, cancer research, or wildlife preservation, the CFC has a charity for any cause you want to support.”

OPM had previously granted a grace period for charities located in areas damaged by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, allowing these organizations additional time to complete requirements that would help facilitate their participation in the campaign.

The campaign will run through January 12, 2018.
