If you separate from federal service, your certification is considered active if you return to federal service or become a contract employee within one year of separation and the certification expiration date has not passed. If more than one year has elapsed between separation from and return to federal service, you must pass the DE certification assessment to reestablish certification before being assigned DE work.
Before you leave federal service, please contact our Help Desk with details about your upcoming separation so that your account can be suspended.
