Questions and answers

OPM will not review temporary and most term appointments, except for term appointments up to ten years in certain Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics-related (“STEM-related”) positions identified in 5 CFR 316, subpart C (amended at 87 FR 73632, Dec. 1, 2022).  Additionally, OPM will conduct pre-appointment reviews for proposed selections to time-limited appointments that may lead to non-competitive conversion to permanent appointments.
