The U.S. Office of Personnel Management, in coordination with its strategic partners; The Departments of Defense, Labor, and Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security launched the Feds Hire Vets website in January 2010.
The objective of the website is to provide a one-stop site with accurate and relevant Federal employment information specifically for Veterans, transitioning military service members, their families, and Federal hiring officials.
Council agency members frequently use Feds Hire Vets social media to specifically target veterans for noncompetitive hiring under the special hiring authorities such as the Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA), 30% or more disabled veteran appointment, Veteran Equal Opportunity Act (VEOA) appointment, and the Schedule A appointing authority for people with disabilities.
