This is in response to your letter requesting waiver of collection for erroneous payments on behalf of [claimant].
The Office of Personnel Management does not have the authority to waive collection of debts incurred by employees of other Federal agencies. Within the Department of Defense, the authority to waive collection of erroneous payments from civilian employees is delegated to the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA). Their address and telephone number are as follows:
Department of Defense Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals Claims Division P.O. Box 3656 Arlington, Virginia 22203 (703) 696-8524
