Leadership for an Efficient and Accountable Government

This 80-hour intensive program will build a pipeline of high performing GS-14s, 15s, and equivalents who have the potential for Federal executive leadership. This program is grounded in the Constitution, laws, and founding ideals of our government and will provide training on President Trump’s Executive Orders. It is designed to equip aspiring leaders with the skills, knowledge, technical expertise, and strategic mindset necessary to excel in senior leadership roles.

Senior Executive Development Program

This 80-hour video-based program enhances SES skills and capabilities in topics such as Article II of the Constitution, the new Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs), and how SES officials will implement Presidential Executive Orders. The program is specifically designed for all career SES officials to ensure they are properly equipped to execute the President’s agenda. The program divided into two phases, each consisting of 40 hours of content delivered over six months.

Overview

OPM’s Senior Executive Development Program (SEDP) equips Senior Executive Service (SES) members with the essential skills and knowledge to champion the President’s Management Agenda. Engage in a transformative learning experience that inspires action, sharpens leadership capabilities, fosters strategic thinking, and strengthens accountability within the Federal Government. 

Curriculum

With focused content tailored to SES roles, you’ll be equipped to advance your agency’s mission and objectives in critical areas such as rulemaking, appropriations, budget, human capital, technology, and policy. You’ll deepen your expertise, learn from fellow executives, and embrace the exciting challenges of your role with renewed confidence and enthusiasm. The 40-hour curriculum must be completed within six months to earn a certificate of completion.
