The Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) Human Resources Solutions (HRS) successfully launched the HR Training on Demand (HRToD) program last year to offer courses specifically designed for HR professionals and supervisors.

To meet broader audience needs, HRToD is expanding to new locations and offering more course topics!  The HRToD program is now offering courses in Washington, DC and Kansas City, MO on telework, job analysis, classification, structured interviews, succession planning, and delegated examining.  Additional courses in more locations are coming soon.

Delegated Examining Certification

DATE(S): April 1-3, 2014
TIME: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
COST: $650/person
LOCATION: Kansas City, MO

This 3-day training equips participants with the knowledge and skill required to perform competitive examining. This training is a must for anyone conducting delegated examining (DE) work. An experienced HR instructor guides participants through the DE process, rules, and regulations through lecture, hands-on exercise, and case studies. Succession Planning

Job Analysis

Job analysis is the foundation for all HR activities and therefore a critical skill set for all HR professionals.  This course provides participants with an understanding of what job analysis is, how to conduct a job analysis in accordance with best practices, when and why to conduct a job analysis, and how job analysis results can be used. Classification Refresher Training

In this 3-day refresher training, a federal classification expert will discuss current topics in basic and advanced classification (e.g., the Factor Evaluation Standard and narrative standard formats, defensible evaluation statements, statements of difference, and classifying developmental and supervisory positions). The structured interview is a valid, legally defensible assessment tool that offers greater success in identifying a quality hire than an unstructured or conventional interview.
