Individual Occupational Requirements

Basic Requirements

All applicants must meet the following education and certification requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree in kinesiotherapy, physical education, physical therapy, exercise science or sports medicine. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a professional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Evaluation of Clinical Practice:

Clinical practice should consist of experience in a Department of Veterans Affairs clinical training program or in an equivalent training program in a clinical setting under a supervising physician.

Note:

Applicants who meet the above education, certification, and clinical practice meet the requirements for GS-7.
